Solitaire Prices vs Karsten Prices for those interested

For any MH shoppers that have been cosidering Solitaire homes amongst their top brands, we were really excited about what they had to offer. We were expecting to find some Solitaire floorplans (knowing they were going to look much more simple than the Karstens) that would provide the square footage of the Karstens at a smaller price tag. Boy were we surprised when the Solitaire 360 had a price tag of $72,000 for 1568 sq. ft. and the Karsten Classic had a price tag of $72,900 for 1500 sq. ft. We were almost sold on the Solitaires before going to visit the dealerships, but after looking at Karstens and Solitaires in person (and being able to upgrade the Karsten exterior walls and insulation for only $1,000 more to match the solitaire) we think we will be going with the much better looking Karsten. Dealerships we visited were Fiesta Homes (Karsten) in Las Cruces, NM and Solitaire Dealerships in both Las Cruces and Deming NM (factory there as well). Both Solitaire dealerships didn't have a single salesperson present when we visited so it was hard to get the information we planned to get as per Grissom's book as well as Kevin Burnside and Robert Bently's "Buying a Manufactured Home" book.
