I am trying to identify the Manufacturer of a 28 x 76 Manufactured Home. The trade name is listed as "Southern" and the Manufacturer's ID number (or serial number) starts with SOU. HUD label indicates it was inspected by NTA,inc. Can anyone help?

Southern Energy out of Alabama used to build a model called Southern. You can get EXACT info from IBITS. Search these forums for a link to them...

The Institute for Building Technology and Safety (IBTS), is the Department of Housing and Urban Development's monitoring contractor under the Federal Manufactured Housing Program. IBTS is required to maintain all reported certification label applications, and has been the sole source of this data since 1976.

If you provide them the HUD Lable number or possibly the serial number they can provides a verification letter by fax or email to verify the following information on your manufactured home:

Label Number
Serial Number
Date of Manufacture
Name of the Manufacturer and Plant Location
Location of First Destination (usually the retailer)

Get the details at the IBTS website
