Skyline homes?

Post by MikeMC » Mon Jul 13, 2009 6:19 pm

Skyline homes are beautiful on the inside and they seem well built, but are they?

Any praises or complaints?

Skyline is an old line builder of manufactured homes. They have been around fir longer than I can remember and have factories across the country. Like most national builders they produce different homes in different parts of the country.

I started in manufactured housing in the 70's selling Skyline's product from their New England plant. I own a half dozen Skyline homes that I have used for many years as rentals and found them to be the Chevy of manufactured homes. They build a well made basic home that you can add just about any feature to that is found in the high-end products. They have always been a leader in customer satisfaction and quality control.

We have had no serious gripes posted here about the Sklyline products or services for many years.

After years of research since finding this forum, have Grissoms books and walking through many Skyline models I have decided that as soon as my current property sells in VT, I will be purchasing A Skyline home. I will have upgraded insulation, though their standard is quite sufficient for most, being in VT I want the most I can have. The quality seems really good and I love the fact that the molding is not stapled with exposed cheap staples that I find on many other homes. I will be purchasing from a dealer in NH who has a good reputation so hopefully all will go well on that front. As per Mr Grissom I will be offering 10% less than the final number on the house and see what happens. Now if only I could sell my current rustic home on 40 acres in VT! LOL
Good Luck in your search!
Allison
