Interesting article..This Clayton Program is almost an EXACT copy of the GM plan in force this months. GM put the plan into affect to alleviate the fears of potential buyers. GM is using it as a marketing tool. to help sell product. Not as a tool to help auto finance sources. Selling in a Chevy store, I have seen NO evidence that the plan is increasing sales. Current buyers either are not effected by the unemployment fears of some or they are insulated from the current negative economic conditions. I have seen an uptick in sales of big vehicles, Tahoes, Suburbans and big pick up trucks. There does seem to be as fear that the government will soon force all of us to drive mini vehicles which Nobody wants. the feeling is better get my mega vehicle while I can.
Of course none of this has much to do with Clayton Homes. But good marketing has always been one of there long strengths. Keep up the good articles about the industry. stop back here often. You will find little investment advice but good info about the industry and its products.
