Va loans

My husband has ava certificate that we never used.How would we go about using it to buy a home in florida.We live in massachusetts.Where should we apply?

TRhe certificate only means your hubby has served on honorably on active duty for at least 6 months and 1 day, which is the requirement to begin to qualify for a VA loan. In my experience many folks misunderstand and think it entitles them a loan directly from the VA,, All it does is tell a lender that he qualifies to apply for a VA guaranteed loan from a VA approved lender. He will still have to meet both the lender and the VA credit requirement. The VA is strict on credit requirement and very strict on income to debt ratio. There are very few lenders who will do home only loans any more. There might be more doing land home mortgages. Of course if you buy from a Florida dealer, they should all be able to tell you about the program and recommend a lender in their area. Good Luck
