Which dealer should we choose?

We are considering a Palm Harbor triple wide home. We presently live in Oregon, but the house will be located in Idaho. Our local OR dealer says that the PH factory ships to all western states from the same Millersburg,Oregon location, so all other dealers will write in transport costs accordingly. Local dealer seems fine and it is easier working with someone close; however we are concerned that when we move (over 500 miles from here) we won't get any follow up service. Are we better off with a PH dealer closer to our property? Has anyone heard anything bad regarding PH of either Woodburn or Millersburg Oregon? Thank you in advance!

All dealers will be getting the PH from thew same plant..and all dealers will be considering ft...Most likely your local dealer will order your home from the plant shipped directly to your land...same as any dealer would..This means you pay the ft. no matter what...The Woodburn store is a Palm harbor owned location which affords you many protections...no middleman to deal with but...It is hard for any store to find quality set crews from such a long distance...At least no matter who they get to set it..Everything will be Palm harbor responsibility... If you want to chance a closer middleman independent dealer they have one at

United Family Homes is proud to offer a variety of beautiful Palm Harbor homes. Palm Harbor's wide range of available floor plans and commitment to customer satisfaction and build quality make them the best in the business. Their factory trim out and 5 year factory warranty (standard on all homes) is second to none. Come by for an in-house factory tour. We'll show you how Palm Harbor's SmartPlus construction process gives you more home for your money.
Notice that no matter who you buy the home from PH does all final finish and trim on your site..The Idaho dealer will pay the same for the home as the Ore store...but if he blows the set up your beef will be with him, not Palm Harbor..If you buy from PH location make your housing consultant visit your property with you to give you any site prep advice that might make things better...This IS his job...Expect this long distance project to take a long time..Probably 3 to 6 months...this means you should order soon before your property is under 10 feet of snom...If you have not already gone, you should make a point of taking a factory tour...Good Luck with your purchase...
