How do I know if it is a good deal?
How do I know if it is a good deal?
Is there any way of telling whether I am getting the best deal on my home? We are looking at a Palm Harbor home model KSP360G9 off the lot. The sales guy showed me a book when we first went in that had prices. When we went back a week or two later, the book was different. He said they had just updated them. I just want to know if there is a price guide or some other way of comparing them.
Re: How do I know if it is a good deal?
Prices change over time...Set prices, a/c prices and home prices change with time..Ask to see his "model value guide". That will be a single page price list (often kept in a 3 ring binder with the others) on the actual home you are looking at with every feature both standard and optional listed in detail...Do not be afraid to offer couple grand less and ask to speak to the GM if need be...They have a 35th year sale on NOW.
Re: How do I know if it is a good deal?
I saw the price sheet, but honestly, how hard is it to just throw a bunch of numbers on paper. Car dealers do it all the time wher ethey have this inflated price that you argue down. They soak the suckers who don't have the brains or the brass to ask for a lower price and still get a healthy profit on those who ge their "best deal". Now, that being said, we are getting our home for about $40 sq/ft. Even with me doing some upgrades later, no guilder can build a home that cheap and still have it standing after a stiff wind.

Hi All,
I google searched and found this site has a lot of very useful info. Anyway, I just bought a MH and it costs $183,000 in Sunnyvale, CA. It is brand new MH, model number is Skyline 7425-CT ~1500 sf. I saw a lot of of people in here bought MH so cheap and I just wonder if I got the good deal or not. Please share.
