One More Question Please

Post by Gamerchick » Sun Oct 15, 2006 9:04 am

How close does the dealer have to be? How inconvienent for all involved would it be to purchase a home from a dealer that's a ways away from you? Is it possible? Like maybe a 2-3 hour drive away.

Thanks in advance!

Having followed the thread in your other post, the location of your land will probably require a Wind zone 3 or Wind zone 2 home for the location you have mentioned....Very few dealers in NC out side of this area would have them in stock and be skilled in the unusual set up requirements...Few would quote any prices including this much more rigorous set up requirement..If you are looking at a home that depends mostly on the dealer for service, you should by with in 100 miles..Even then ask about the wind zone requirements and their experience..Remember if you are looking in a wind zone 1 area..it is most likely you will have to custom order the home and pay more for it...I wish it was easier..but is not..these rules are for your protection...

In Washington state it really doesn't matter where the home will be placed or where it was purchased from. The dealer may have an additional freight charge if the location is out of his range (50-100 mi) but where the factory services there own homes, location is not that critical. They will just schedule you in accordingly to other nearby service calls.
If you can get a good deal from the dealer take it!
