Hey everyone. I have been looking at manufactured homes in the last couplr of weeks and have liked what i saw. Until I saw my credit score...505. Now I am depressed. My question how hard is it to get financed with this low score and how long will it take to get a decent score.

Rosalind,

When we got our house, the mortgage process was really smooth because our scores were near 700. The lady that worked with us said that many of their customers had scores in the upper 500s and lower 600s. Since your score is a bit low, you need to get some information on how to start getting them up. My sister raised her scores by about 50 points in less than three months when she got copies of her credit reports and started disputing false info--believe me, most people have things on their reports that are false. A good starting point is to visit a credit related site such as creditboards.com. They have some awesome information there and you can get some great advice on getting your scores up. Hang in there and good luck!!

Here is one place to start. You can order your FICO score at this site as well.
Hang in there! Mac

hi! My husband and I are in the process of buying a new home as well. Our credit score is about 570. We were able to get financed through the home dealer but they required 30% down because of our credit but luckily we are selling another house so that's not a problem. Good lcuk
