Financing

My husband and I have found a doublewide on 4 lots. Asking price is 34K.
My credit score is only 599.(divorce, move, loss of good job in 2000) Bank won't loan us $$ because (they say) home is "mobile" (we might haul it away)...It has a pier and beam foundation)
They will however loan us $70K on a site built home.
We fell in love with this home and the lots.
Is there anywhere we can get financed at a reasonable rate with my poor credit score? (we're doing good now, but it takes time to clear up past mistakes)
Thanking you in advance.

Murray,
Thank you for the link. Yes I have tried the finance section of this web site and have filled out an application with Worldwide Mortgage.
I haven't heard back from them yet, but I'm sure its because of the holidays.
I read somewhere that the more "inquiries" you have on your credit report the worse it looks, so I will wait until I hear from them before I do anything else. The last thing I need is anything (more) negative on that report.
Thanks again, I will save the link....just in case.

Multiple mortgage inquiries do not lower your score..as long as they are all with-in 30 days....
inquiries only affect the score a few points per pull..With your scores it will not make a difference in the decision......If I were you I would quit business with the first bank...accusing you of being a thief is not good business....Good Luck...

Hello,
I recently applied for a refinance through Worldwide mortgage too. I cannot even get in touch with anyone or find the website I visited. The links I saved are no longer working. I am a little confused, so I was wondering if it worked out for you?
Thanks,
Jamie

Thank you to everyone for the quick responses, I did some digging and finally found them and my application. If anyone else is looking for the Texas Branch for Manufactured Homes it is now called Southwest Funding and the link is
http://manhomeloans.com
Thanks again, and good luck to everyone, as I am finding this the most difficult experience. I mean trying to refinance our home and land together with a decent interest rate.
