I am about to buy a triple wide 2800 sq ft home and curious why the dealer is selling me a stem wall for my ground set home. I did ask for a concrete slab and was told I "absolutley did not need it", especially since I was getting a stem wall. I still don't even know what the stem wall does. I was told nothing on the home even touches the stem wall. For $9000 I think I should understand.

Yes the dealer should spend time explaining exactly what you are getting..Ask for full info...

We're trying to decide whether to purchase a stem wall, also. My dealer says it is a waste of money. Realtors in the area have told me it is an absolute necessity for appreciation, resale, and the settling issue. We are moving to Dewey, AZ and are confused. Have you gotten good responses from your posting?
