When purchasing a washer and clothes dryer for a 1998 Fleetwood is it possible to buy a regular size such is used in a house or must I buy from a mobile dealer in order for it to fit a mobile home ? Is this generally a problem ? I can't measure the space as it is a four hour drive and I won't be moving for another two weeks.
Thanks much.

Use standard size washer and drryers..If you get a gas dryer..be sure it is for a manufactured home..

Be prepared to put in a new vent outlet for your dryer. I have a 1995 Dutch model, and even though a regular size washer and dryer fit in the space, there was no room for the venting tube from the dryer to get to the hole for the outside venting. The original owner had just cut a hole in the floor and was venting it under the house. Not only is that damaging to have the moisture vented under the house, it can be dangerous to people. I immediately bought a stackable washer and dryer, vented it out properly, covered up the hole, and then I ended up with much needed storage space with the leftover space. I have a nice sized cupboard there that reaches almost to the ceiling. Stackables are an awesome way to go, the washers use less water, soap, etc., and do an awesome job of cleaning clothes. Good luck Jan
