Does anybody know a website where all - or most - of FL communities are listed with an overview of homes for sale?

For a listing of about four hundred manufactured homes that are currently for sale in land lease communities across Florida check out the MH IN PARKS IN FLORIDA search of the MH National Multiple Listing Service

We spent six weeks in Florida this past Winter and are contemplating purchasing a double wide in a park. The park we really like is Hawthorne Estates on Route 27 south of Leesburg. We like everything about it other than being in a cooler part of Florida for winter. Do you know of any other parks that have the same perks as Hawthorne Estates? cjs

In addition to selecting a park we want walk in showers and NO bathtubs in both bathrooms.

Carolyn -
Central Florida is an excellent choice. I have been here for 27 years Leesburg is just south of The Villages where they are building 400 new high-end retirement homes every MONTH! The value of ALL homes in this area has been skyrocketing and we see no end in sight.
Hawthorne is also a good choice. It is an attractive location and the residents I have come in contact with over the years have been pleased with their decision to purchase there.
It is just a bit cooler than in South Fla but winters are almost perfect here. The temp hits into the 70s most afternoons and nights in the 60s are very comfortable for sleeping with the windows open.
If your looking for a pre-owned home don't base your purchase on the baths having showers. Any bathtub can be replaced with a walk in shower. Find the right home and you can customize the baths after you own it. Likewise any new home built can be ordered with showers replacing the standard tub.
Have you looked at the communities in Marion County? Ocala is just north of Leesburg and there are many desirable communities scattered through the beautiful horse farms - What features are you looking for in a community?

I don't know if you've visited the Hometown America website, but we have all our 55+ communities listed by state, and we have several across Florida.
Our website is
www.hometownamerica.com. Happy hunting.

Tell me about insurance on the mobile home and especially since the hurricanes did the damage last year.
Thanks,

Hello, we're from Ohio and we're looking for a nice park in the same area you're talking about. We like Leesburg and the proximity to both coasts. Our problem is a 75 pound golden retreiver we're not about to leave at home, so we need a park that will take big dogs. Can't help you with your search because we know almost nothing but we're going to be learning. Feel free to reply if you wish. Thanks.
