Hi, We've been shopping for a modular home. I bought the modular home book from this site. We have elimanated several models already and are down to 3.
Hart, Liberty-Pine Grove, and Wick.
I had asked on this site awhile back and was told that Liberty wasn't a good home, but I've checked on everything that I can think of and it almost ranks up there with Wick, The only differences between Liberty and Wick are the price, copper water pipes, Kolbe and Kolbe windows, and the overhang.
The Hart is actually higher priced than the Liberty from 1 dealer, but I found another dealer and the Hart and Liberty are very similarly priced. But the Hart has smaller roof trusses, and the interior has problems and would need quite a bit of upgrades to make it the same as the Liberty.
The only problem with the Wick is the price.
I have talked to people who own Wick homes, and they're satisfied, I was wondering if anyone here has any experience with the Liberty Pine Grove or Hart modulars. Thanks.
trying to choose
Re: trying to choose
We have a Liberty Pine Brook modular and it is a little over a year old. No big problems-bought it from a very good dealer who has taken care of the little things. One thing-and it may be this way in the other homes as well-is the placement of the furnace. The return air is ducted to the dining area and created a noisy environment. I had a heating contractor reroute the return and that reduced the noise to a more tolerable level. We have skylights and I have kept my eye on them-no leaks. My complaints have included a few ceiling seams that were noticable in the evening, the master closet set-up, asome areas with squeaky floors-they tightened the bolts underneath-and a cabinet door out of alignment. Hope that helps.
