manufactured home on a sloped lot?
manufactured home on a sloped lot?
My husband and I have been searching for the right property to invest in waterfront property. We have found a lot that we would like to put a manufactured home on as a summer place. The lot is 99ft of river frontage by 275ft. The lot has power and septic installed but needs to be cleared and is on a slope. My question for anyone who has a 2nd home is this- How easy is it to put a manufactured home on a sloped lot. I can't get a dealer to look at the lot until we purchase it but we do not want to purchase the lot if a manufactured home can not be place on the sloping lot. (the slope is set up for daylight basement house)
Re: manufactured home on a sloped lot?
If the dealer you are dealing with will not help now...what will he do after he has your money...any good dealer looking to help you with a home would be happy to help with your choice of land..
Sloped land is no problem in most cases....but I have seen some that was impossible to put a home on...also..you can have a basement built for your home in most areas...but this will add a lot of cost to the overall price...
Most set up manuals will require specialized piers when they are over 5 blocks high..this could add a little to the cost..the higher underpinning could also add to the cost...a sever slope might add to the placement costs...all said..all lots are possible to place homes on...just how much will it cost..
If need be...look up experienced delivery folks in the phone book and offer them a little money for an on site inspection and advice...Good Luck
