Mobile Home Financing

Post by Alicia » Thu Aug 12, 2004 9:02 am

My husband and I are trying to get financing to buy a mobile home in a park. We'd like to put 5%, maybe 10% down and I am wanting to know if that is possible. We are in CA with a Chapter 7 discharged 1 1/2 years ago. I have a rating of 642 from one report and would like to get a loan just in my name.

Is this at all possible? Thanks.

Probably not...most lenders will require at least 2 years from a bk (actually most home only manufactured home lenders will require about 4 years)...and most will look at all three cb files...Any negatives since the bk will stop you for sure...

Maybe you could look for a home on a permanent foundation then either go FHA or conventional. Your approval would be more favorable with 10% down which lessens the default risk to the lender. If you would like more information please phone me at 509-276-9015
