Could anyone answer this for me? What is standard in manufactured housing? 100 or 200 amp service and what size wiring is used? Is it 12/2 or 14/2 and what about the dryer and stove and water heater? I know they have to meet certain requirements.I guess what I want to know is are they wired to a minimum requirement or do they have to meet a specific requirement? Would appreciate any feedback.

100 amp service is acceptable...but most new homes are now standard with 200...
All HUD homes are built to the national electrical code..For specfic comaprison with site homes building codes..Go to this web site...there is a whole section on the electrical standards..

100 amp service is fine for a home, but if you're planning on adding a garage or other structure that requires electric, you need to go to 200 amp service. I'm in AZ and 100 amp service is standard. I wish I lived where rmurray was, I'd save a few bucks. Can't help you w/the rest, sorry.

It seems from what I have read that a home with electrical appliances also automatically must be upgraded.

Depends on what powers your appliances - I have electric water heater and furnace, so my place came with 200 amp; if those were gas, the standard would have been 100.
