2000 DW Fleetwood

Considering buying a 2000 Doublewide Fleetwood, a repo. The price is 25000.00. but to move it about 100 miles or less and set it up in a community the company selling it is adding on about 10000.00. As a novice in this field, I believe that is a bit extreme. Whats your views. The route that they would have to take is 2 major highways and crossing one 6 lane bridge.

Sounds a little high to me. My brother-in-law had his moved 75 miles (not all major highways) and it cost 2500.00. Granted it was a single wide. If you double that you are still only looking at 5000.00. I would get a breakdown on why it is so expensive. Hope this helps in some small way. Good Luck-Gail

If the house is already setup than they have to seperate it, prepare for the move, move it and join it back together, fix what was broken in the move including the roof, that is nothing like a single wide. Get some other bids for the job and see how they compare but for $35k you have a 2000 sf house which is $17psf. Depending on where you live I would rethink the park if it is rented land because if you decide to sell it you would have a difficult time and the rent will never go down.
