Jacobsen compared to Homes of Merit

My question is, what company would be the best to purchase from? Are they ranked the same? I love the Jacobsen and Homes of Merit, but it seems you can get alot more square footage for your money with Homes of Merit/ Would anyone say their quality in the home was that much different? Any comments would be great.
