liberty built as modular

Hi.

I was wondering if anyone has any experience or thoughts on Liberty Homes. I have been given a price on one done as a modular instead of manufactured so as to avoid zoning issues. My wife and I love the floor plan and the layout, and are really interested in it.

I did a search on the forum and found very little, except for one or two posts saying they are not built too great.

My question is, what exactly is the biggest problem with these homes? Is it just certain things, or are they poorly built in general? I don't mind a FEW little things here and there, but I don't want to get into a major structural or mechanical nightmare either.

Our other option is a Fairmount (Foxwood series) that can also be done as a modular in my area, and is just a little bit more money, although not a whole lot more.

Which would YOU rather live in? LOL!!

Anyone able to help? :-)

Thank you,
Kevin

Kevin,

I purchased Liberty's model LM288024 back in November of 2000. We just
love our home. The only real complaint we have had with the home is the
front door needed to be at least 36" and I believe it was only 32". We found
out later that was an option but just never thought of it at the time. It was a real
pain when we were trying to move in and the furniture barely fit. The only other
problem is the cheap kitchen and bath faucets that is standard with the home.
We have had to replace two of them and they were cheap made. These are
about the only negative things that come to mind. As I mentioned, we love the home and so does everyone who sees it.
