Palm Harbor Dealer

Has anyone out there used the Palm Harbor factory direct dealer in Casa Grande, Az?
They are telling me over the phone that they can save me many thousands by going through them rather than use the family owned dealer in Hemet, Ca.
This house will go on my land in Kern County, Ca.
Did you have a good experience or should I run?

Thanks in advance.

Jeff,

We currently are negotiating with the factory direct dealer in Buckeye, AZ for a Palm Harbor home to be placed on property we own in Kern County. We also spoke with the dealer in Hemet. Our impression is the sales manager is Buckeye is very knowledgeable about the product, has been patient with our every question, and the pricing (including the transportation to Kern County) is several thousand dollars less than the Hemet dealer's price. The Hemet dealer was also much more concerned about getting a "write up" on the first visit and not willing to provide much in the way of info regarding available financing or the general contractor who would be used unless we were willing to commit to his deal. This is a very different approach than we experienced in Buckeye.

Is there a downside - sure, as we understand it, if there any warrant related problems then the state agency that oversees such matters in California does not have jurisdiction over the warranties on manufactured homes purchased in Arizona. By the way, the home installer must be licensed in California. Hope this helps!
