Quality Wholesale Homes...a question

My husband and I are exploring Quality Wholesale Homes. They service the western US and are out of Utah. They have stock floorplans which they commission from the manufacturing plants of other MH manufacturers. Their base prices are 10-15% less than their stated retail value but very little comes standard on them... I am just curious if anyone has used them and would tell me what your experience was . Thanks!

Hello,
I have not used them but i have looked into buying one of these homes. My main reson for not using them was because of there lack of a "real" warrenty. My information really only comes from the contact I had with the sales man, so I could have just gotten an uninformed sales man. In our case our sales person sugested that we sub-contract out the side work ie delivery then another person for set up then another person for "blue-nail"(finish work tape & texture flooring that sort of stuff). but the way I understood it in doing that it would basically void any warrenty If you have a problem you might get the run around something like " your house was not installed correctly you will need to contact the delivery people"-the delivery people saying" it left the factory that way" and so on. Again this was my main concern so I dont know that this would for sure happen but in looking at the warrenty info it didnt have much tooth to it(jmho)
I loved the idea of "sweat equity" we were going to paint and do the flooring ourselves and easily save 5-10%, but again with the cost of what they considered "extra" and the warrenty issues it was just not worth it for our family.
I hope I helped a little and remember that this was just my thoughts so it might be a good option for you.
good luck,
csody

Sorry forgot to add that the homes do not come with a/c those from home depot run $1500-2500. and you have to pay extra for the proper plumbing for one to be added. its not a ton $150-200 but still that sort of bugged me. Also shipping cost seemed way high I live near the utah-nevada border and I think they said around $8-9 k. Maybe someone else can tell us how that compares with other models.
The shult home that we are looking at comes in at about the same price when compareing the what the quality home place called extras (well maybe it is a little more $1-5k butfor us the warrenty issues more then made up for that).
Anyway just wanted to pass along what I found out.
Happy Shopping,

Thank you so much for your time...you have given me reinforcement for what I already suspected. But now i have a new question...We have a friend who is a setter and we have been planning to use, plus my FIL is a contractor who has made dozens of foundations in his career and we were going to do our own site work...does that mean we will be voiding our warranty? No one at the dealership we will probably use has told us that. In fact they encouraged us to lower our costs by doing these things...Is that red flag?

Thanks again for your help. Barbara
