Mr. Murray i would like to know positives for
ordering 200 amp service as option compared to taking
standard 100 amp in regular pkg.
Thanks in advance for your response.

I did not know there were anymore homes standard with 100 amp service......I guess you are looking at one with a gas furnace..

The disadvantage is only 1...slightly higher hook up costs....

In todays world...power demands of home are growing every year....I would get the larger box just to be sure we could do anything we ever want in the future (room additions, enclosed decks, electric logs in firepalce..who knows..maybe you will want 2 dryers some day)..including going to electric heat..(just in case gas skyrockets in cost)...

Neither one will effect energy use...that will be determined by the items using power....actually a 100 amp box at maximum capacity will use slightly more power because of heat generated..but this is very small...
