We need help. I need to know if anyone knows of anything we can do to our home dealer and the construction guy they hired to finish our house for not working when they are supposed to, not working more than a few hours a day and only one guy doing it and for our home dealer not hiring someone else to do the work or doing it themselves when it is obviously not getting done. We closed on our house on Sep. 11, 2003. First we were told that the house would be done by
October 13, 2003. The house had not even been delivered by that time. The foundation was not even complete. Then they told us Halloween. Same story. Then they said that we were having a walk-through last Friday. We drove out to see what had been completed and they had not even started the finishing of the house in or outside. They are now saying around Thanksgiving which is next Thursday. Obviously, we don't believe a damn thing they say. They have never appoligized and don't seem to give a damn. We have three children that need to transfer schools and many other significant reasons that get screwed up everytime they give us a false start. Help!!! They are to be done, per the contract, no later than December 26, 2003. We are worried that we will not even be in by then. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I went through the same thing with Palm Harbor, have you spoke to the dealership manager, I called them every day asking what the holdup was...spoke with the manager at least once a day. I then asked to speak to the district manager.

I love the home Im in, and all the improvements were done very well...but it was a very slow process, we made three mortage payments before ever taking possession of the home...sometimes there are reason why the contractors are not getting the work done i.e. rain, wrong matierials delivered etc... but that doesnt help ease the anxiety that you feel.

I would suggest talking to the manager, call them every day, dont been confrontational just be persistant and after two or three days if you do not see an increase in speed,call and ask for the district/regional manager...all the best.
