My wife and I are STILL looking we are curious to a point brought up to us... Yaers ago you could by your home direct through the manufacturer and save 1000s we are curious as to if this can still be done through certain manufacturers... If so.... What manufactures will still let you do this... Please advise...

None...matter of fact there never has been such sales...

There are some manufacturers that own their own dealerships..

Clayton, Palm Harbor, Champion, Oakwood, Horton and Fleetwood...they buy the home from the plant at the same price as an independent and mark ups are dictated by the corporate office..You can look up the public filings of these companies (except Horton..they are privately owned) to find out the gross profit they make on the retail centers...Most often these sales centers have much higher gross profits than local independents have..

How would I find average cost of renovating/updating a park or community?

I doubt I can help with that...try posting on the community board here...There are a few consultants that have an association with this web site..check them out..

How and where would one go to find out the public records which show the gross markup? Thanks, in advance, for your help!
