Where do we start

My husband and I have been pre-approved through the USDA Rural Development program. We are considering purchasing a manufactured home, however, after reviewing this website and forum I feel a little overwhelmed. Where does one even begin the process? How should we go about selecting a dealer? What do we need to look for in a home when in comes to stability? Thanks for any input.

If you are thinking about buying one in Pennsylvania, I can help you out. If not, I would try browsing this site, the yellow pages, other internet sites and all the while doing as much legwork as possible to ensure a healthy acquistion. Contact several builders and finance companies that focus on manufactored housing and don't be afraid to ask questions. They are supposed to be the experts! It has become a harder process than in former years, though a properly informed consumer can make it less difficult on themselves as long as they are being properly informed by a competent expert. Be creative in doing your homework and don't let any stone go unturned. Hope this helps.
