hello everyone,
this forum and site are awesome. THNKS to everyone. have many questions.

will start with this one: what are the pros/cons of purchasing a manuf/modular currently built and moving it? belgrade to paradise valley in MT, if anyone needs to know. it would be put on a few acres to be developed.

also, how do i compare a manufactured home (currently right where i want to live) with a brand new modular to be placed on chosen/developed property?

this will be my first home!! and my last as my resources are very limited and am getting help from feds/state (new section8 homeownership for those permanently disabled who live below poverty).

thanks! :-)

2 things...
If you are section 8 qualified...most likely you will be financing with the FHA...If so..any used home would have to already be placed (FHA will not finance a used home that has been moved..why??..who knows...Washington bs...something you are already familier with I suspect)...also...the used home will have to be set to satisfy an FHA inspector as permanently set (many may not be set to these standards)....That said..it is almost always true the a currently placed home will be less expensive than new developement..

I know money is tight...but one of Randy's books could well be worth your investment...especially since repairs will be on you and with a limited income you do not need any repairs in the thousands of dollars..Being in Montana..I would not bother with the comparison book...It will be mostly about homes you cannot get..

Hopefully someone here will offer you theirs...or...maybe the webmaster (David Oxehandler)..could contact Randy for you and split the cost of a complimentary copy...smile David...on you..
