I spoke with a mh dealer this week and told them i would like r-19 in the floor (r-19 wall, r-30 roof). the dealer told me high floor insulation is not necessary and is a waste of money. i live in texas with hot summertimes (100 degrees or more in august) and some winter temps of 20s and 30s. any suggestions as to whether upgrading floor insulation is a worthy investment? thanks.

Actually better would be R-22....Call your power company for their advice...I am sure they will tell you the small cost of upgrade is nothing next to a lifetime of higher energy bills...

Actually you best choice would be a full "Energy Star" designated home...Check out www.energystar.gov ...
