Yes folks, I have been living in my house since last August on a construction loan. Closing date? None in sight.
Last week, I got all of my paperwork together and resubmitted it for the 2nd time. Never heard from the mortgage rep. So I called today and asked for a closing date.
My rep is "no longer with the company" and they were "coming under new management" and I was told I'd have to be 'reapproved' and then they'd get back to me with a time schedule.
I have HAD IT with these idiots!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Do I honestly have any options at this point? I'm at my wits end with them.

Well, other than that minor concern, how are you liking your house? Have you had any major problems? What about those energy bills? Are they as low as you anticipated? Any dealer problems? Any regrets? Etc. etc. etc.

I hear you!! We too have been on the construction part of the loan since June. Our problem was that the bank accepted our construction appraisal and then when it came time for the permanent loan - they bailed on us, saying that the appraisal didn't support the value of the home. (So why'd they accept the first one?) So, what we're doing now is this... we're on our bank's in house rate and have the loan for 5 years (balloon payment will be due for the balance) AND we had to be very assertive and demand an interest credit for the difference between the first construction rate to the current interest rate - and they obliged, but not until we started demanding our rights and their accountability. We've got 5 years to get permanent financing. We're also having to look at double closing costs - once this is settled, plan on having a lawyer help up with our expenses because of their incompetence. NOW, we're back to the dealer we bought the home from in the first place and have learned a HUGE lesson. We're on our 2nd appraisal, resubmitting paperwork, etc. BUT you just have to do it - interest rates are lower now than ever and I'm praying that this financing fiasco will be end soon. Hang in there. Somebody will help you - keep looking.

Well, my final paperwork has already come back once, but it had to be delayed because one of my husband's (negative) accounts showed up on my credit report because he listed me as an authorized user without my knowledge.. Equifax removed it, but that took 30 days. I am sincerely hoping he meant they'd just have to re-do the paperwork, not the whole frigging reapproval process. I know who I talked to and he's fresh off campus, if you get my meaning.
I am going to go down to my credit union and see if they can help.

Mrs x:
I love my house. Still no factory repair trip - but the service apparently is outsourced and the service tech calls my voice mail before I arrive at work and leaves messages saying "we will have to call back when someone is available" and doesn't leave a number. (profanity deleted) I mean, I can understand that - because people would probably misuse the number but good god. He told me to call the factory to schedule it, and didn't give me THEIR number either.
Power bills run in the 90's to lower 100's. Our highest was $139, and that was when we first moved in. This past month was $108. Thermostat is set at 68 during cold months, 78 during warmer ones.
Since the dishwasher blowup, we haven't had any other probems. We are now starting to think about redecorating. We are putting down vinyl sheet flooring in the den, since it sees so much traffic. Since I have the same pale beige wallpaper in every single room of the house, we are going to paint along the lines of the

Hey Murray, how much does that thing run furniture and all?
