Texas Homes

Can anyone help? We have looked at several homes in the area and are so confused about who the best builder is in the Central TX area. We've looked at Palm Harbor, Clayton, Skyline, Cavco, Fleetwood, Champion, Shult, etc... Feeling a bit overwhelmed w/out a huge budget to spend and want to know who our best choice would be.

We are also looking at Repos or used, but have been told financing is next to impossible and we are just taking over someone else's problems. Is that not a good option?

Also, avoid a Dealer called Mobile Home Mall like the plague!! We have never been treated so rudely in our lives! We told them we were just shopping floor plans and manufacturers to get general ideas and they refused to show us any homes unless we did a credit analysis and filled out an app (All that just to see models??) so they didn't show us more home than we could afford!! We left and assured them we would spread the word about their customer service!!

Thanks for any info you can send back on the "most bang for the buck", best manufactured home in our area and advice on used homes.

Thanks!!

I know little about TX built homes...
But 1 comment..
you said..."We are also looking at Repos or used, but have been told financing is next to impossible..."
Actually the best financing....conventional mortgage finance...treats new and used manufactured homes the same and at the same rates...Some one did not tell you the whole story..
