Pricing of homes

Post by Alisa Cook » Fri Jan 03, 2003 4:44 pm

I am trying to do as much research as possible regarding purchase of a home that I want to put on a lot that I own. It is very frustrating since many of the web sites do not have pricing. The ones that do often have just monthly payments and since I want to pay cash this does not help me.

Is there any way to get an idea of the prices of the various manufacturers? I can back into the estimated sales prices of those that have monthly payments but many of the sites I am wasting time looking at plans that may be out of my budget!

It is nearly impossible to post prices on the web...
Every home offers many options...some have many features standard...others have no features standard...
Price usually also includes delivery and set up...This will very with the area you are in and local code requirements...Price also usually includes dealer installed items such as underpinning and a/c...Of course these will very depending on your choice of quality and style...
Few manufacturers include all floorplans on their national site...Larger manufacturers like Fleetwood offer homes from 45 plants..all different in specs and floorplan...Even smaller single plant locations usually have many more floorplans available than the site will have...

Use the net to get dealer names and phone numbers...Get ideas about the product you would like if money were not and issue...Call dealers in your area...with in 200 miles...and find one you think you will be comfortable with...

Post here often with your questions here often..There are many who will help...The only dumb question is the one you do not ask...
...You might try buying one of this forum's moderator's book...They have much info in them for the beginning manufactured home buyer..Good Luck
