I've heard on here that Clayton homes are well-built homes. I've been to their site and read about their construction. They seem to be rather proud of something called "unified" construction or something like that. They said they bolt it together in the factory and build it that way to make sure the sides line up when it gets to your site, or something like that. Is there really any advantage to this?
Clayton is the only lot I haven't stopped at in my area because I just wasn't impressed with their looks when I drove by (they seem to have unusually low sidewalls....I want 8'). The only thing that caught my eye was their big fancy picture windows, which I haven't seen in any of the others. Are they really a good MH?
I'm leaning toward Southern Energy. They have some floor plans I like and from what I hear on here are well-constructed. They have real wood kitchen cabinets, china sinks, etc. Anyone have any experience with them?
There is a lot model at the SE place that, if I had a place to put it right now, I would give serious consideration. It is a "triple-wide" (not exactly, because the back part doesn't go all the way across the length, but the whole kitchen and dining area are in a separate section) with 4 bedrooms, 3 baths, maple cabinets throughout, transoms over the kitchen and dining area windows (really pretty), oak plank-floored foyer, huge corner rock fireplace...just all the "options"....and it is on clearance for $62,500! I can't remember what the carpet and wall colors are, but I remember the flooring in the kitchen was a nice neutral, large ceramic tile square type pattern. And it even has a built-in (or on, I guess!) deck on the back. It is a Southern Energy, their top line. It sure sounds like a good deal to me.
Well, if anyone has any input on my questions above, I would appreciate it. Have a good day, everyone!
