36-inch Doors

Which manufacturer makes regular size doors for manufactured homes? Is it Homestead? I know I've seen them somewhere, but it may have been Southern Energy. I HATE those "dwarf doors" I've seen on Fleetwood and others. Is the regular door size becoming more popular?

Are you talking about interior or exterior doors? We looked at a lot of homes and Clayton had 32 inch interior doors the largest we found, but one exterior door was 32 and the other 36. We purchased a Buccaneer by Caviler and both exterior are 36 but interior are the small I think 30.

I was talking about exterior doors. I didn't notice that the interior doors in a m-h were any different from those in a site-built home.

Homestead again...36 inch high quality doors are standard equipment...Amother neat feature..They have a door lock that once you use your key does not allow master keys to open it..great security feature..

Southern does offer optional 36 inch doors..as well as many manufacturers...The option cost is usually $ 300 to $500....

Homestead is sounding better and better. Do any of their models have the palladian window?

The Buccaneer has standard residential exterior doors that are 36 inch. The locks are that way on tham also.

NO...and you do not want one either...way too much heat comes in...where ever there is glass...there is no insulation..even the best thermo pane glass has a R value of less than 3...plus radiant heat is terrible..

Remember..Homestead, Bellcrest, Buccanier, Cavalier, Belmont and Brigadier are all the SAME home....

First...I am not sure that the "palladian window" has that...I can only tell you the first time I saw this type of window was in the Summer at a manufactured home show...Even though the a/c was running...the room with the window was fully 20 degrees hotter than the rest of the house...

We have had them since instock and they are fine...but...hot..

Remember all thermo pane windows loss their thermo characteristics some day..
