My wife and I have decided to go ahead and buy our land now, before we move down to Florida from Tennessee. We are in the process of putting our house on the market, but figured we'd better buy our land while we can.

We are looking for land that is about 45 minutes away from downtown Tampa. We'd like to be in Pasco county due to low taxes, but are open to other areas, as long as they are about a 45-60 minute commute to downtown Tampa.

We've considered Zephryhills, Wesley Chapel, San Antonio, Dade City, and Port Richey.

Does anyone have any land for sale down there, or know of anyone who does?

I live in Pasco County and also have been looking for land to put a M-H on. If you stay east of I75 and north of St. Rd. 52 you can find some property. If your looking for more then an acre then this is the area to look. Land down here has become very expensive, figure $25,000 an acre + well, septic, and impact fees. Good luck.

My wife & I just bought 7 acres in Melrose, FL with a 56" x 26" Fleetwood on it. Nicely landscaped, deep well, septic, fenced for mid $50's. There are similar properties in the area for similar prices. We looked at the on-line ads in the area newspapers every Sunday; we printed them out, called the people, and eventually bought the peoperty sight unseen. We had a good realtor as our buyer's agent (Mike Hanks, American Dream in Starke, FL) and are pleased with the way everything came out. Within the next year we will sell our home in RI & move south.
