Used home inspection

Just looked at a 2-year-old man. home which was bought by an investor and refurbished. The owner said that the house had been a foreclosue and was completely trashed when he bought it He had redone the floors in the living room and kitchen, putting down something that looked like hardwood but wasn't. I would want to carpet over it but I noticed the floor in the kitchen was sort of buckled (I think that's the word) in one place. "Humped up" slightly might describe it better and I remarked on that but the guy said it just needed to be nailed down better. Overall, the house looked pretty good, but how do I find out about the flooring?

Could you elaborate on that please, Mr. Murray? Could the floors really be that bad on such a relatively new house?

Yes...this home probably had NovoDeck floor and lots of moisture under the home..Most likely the dryer was vented directly under the home..This can cause the whole floor to warp in a very short time...This would not be covered under any warranty..Likely this home has other damage and mold accumulation..
