County Requirements - UPDATE

Post by L Jane » Mon May 20, 2002 12:42 pm

I'd like to update everyone who read my previous posts regarding our County and what they were requiring. Yes, we do still have to have an attached two-car garage (if you want to call a 14' W x 18' L building a "two-car" garage). BUT, we do not have to have a driveway (we are not in a subdivision). We do still have to have a minimum roof pitch of 5:12 but we did not want anything lower anyway. What was most frustrating was when they kept telling us mother's deed was not recorded! We got the deed out and sure enough, it was recorded. Took it down with us last Friday to confirm with the County Real Estate Office, then went over to the County Planning and Development Office and finally got a young lady who knew exactly what to do! Though adding the garage will impact what we can spend on the home itself, it won't be a bad as I originally thought. At least they are not making us tie-in to the non-existent county water or pour a driveway. Thanks for everyone's input! L Jane
