Rating systems

Is there a rating system for manufactured homes similar to new automobiles? Does Consumer Reports review different models? How do I find out a comparison of manufacturers? I have spent a year looking and reading, however, I would like to find out more information before I make my final choice - I want a home to live out my life in.

DIFFERENT STATES HAVE DIFFERENT PLACES TO CALL AND CONTACT FOR THE INFORMATION YOU ARE SEARCHING FOR. WHERE ARE YOU FROM? IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU BUY A HOME MANUFACTURED IN THE
STATE THAT YOU ARE PLACING IT IN, BECAUSE OF PROBLEMS THAT MAY
OCCUR AND YOU MADE NEED ASSISTANCE.
EXAMPLE: IF YOU BUY A HOME IN GEORGIA AND LIVE IN GEORGIA BUT
THE HOME WAS BUILT IN ALABAMA AND YOU HAVE PROBLEMS WITH
GETTING WARRANTY SERVICE, THE GEORIGA STATE FIREMARSHALLS OFFICE CAN NOT REALLY HELP WHEN IT COMES TO GETTING THE MANUFACTURER TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM BECAUSE THEY ARE IN DIFFERENT STATES.
SHOP AROUND, WITHOUT LETTING THEM ALL PULL YOUR CREDIT
ASK TO GET A COPY OF ALL THE STANDARD FEATURES AND OPTIONS THAT THEY OFFER. COMPARE COMPARE AND COMPARE.
YOU CAN ALSO TRY ASKING FOR SOME REFERRELS THAT THEY HAVE PREVIOUSLY SOLD TO AND CALL THEM. THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU
IN YOUR AREA CAN HELP TO. REMEMBER, A MANUFACTURED HOME WILL
ONLY LAST AS LONG AS YOU TAKE CARE OF IT, MAINTENANCE COMES
WITH EVERYTHING. ASK ALOT OF QUESTIONS, AND GET IT IN WRITING,
IF YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND THE ANSWER TO THE QUESTION THEN
SHOP SOME MORE.
