Redman Eaton P ?

Post by Vanessa » Wed Mar 06, 2002 8:59 pm

Dear Sir / Madam

I am trying to locate the blueprint for a repossessed mobile home we have just purchased. The deed lists the home as a 1998 (unknown make - although have been informed it is a Redman) Model: Eaton P Vin: 143T1073.

I have been unable to locate this blueprint or even the manufactured home type to date and we need the blueprint in order to pour the foundation and set up our water lines to the home ( we are moving it to a new location).

Do you have any ideas on where we might find this and is this home a Redman?

Best regards,
Vanessa

Eaton Park is one of the brands built by Redman..Redman is owned by Champion Homes and there are more than 1 plant in the country..You failed to mention which state you are in..but...the T in the Vin number implies that it was built in a state beginning with a T...
That in mind..call..
Redman Homes, Inc.
501 S. Burleson Blvd.
P.O.Box 549
Burleson, TX 76028
Phone: 817-572-1341
Fax: 817-572-2867
or go to this site and search the states that you think it might have been built in..

http://www.championhomes.net/ListBuilders.asp

P.S....It does not seem that you have all of the vin number..They are usually somewhat longer from Champion..But any Redman plant should be able to direct you to the correct one..Good Luck

Dear Sir
Thank you for the information about our newly purchased home. Since your message, I have called various Redman sellers in Kentucky (our home state), Tennessee, Arizona and others and right now I have had no further luck - either people are unable to help me or my calls are not returned from Redman. It is very frustrating - we are literally awaiting the blueprint so we can dig the foundation and get the home moved onto our site. I am still looking and still making calls, but if you have any further ideas I would appreciate any help you may be able to offer. I checked again into the VIN number and that is all I have on the Deed and so that is all I have to work with.

Thank you for your reply

Your home is not too old...You should still be able to read the vin number on the crossmember on the front of the house..Stand at the hitch and face the home..the number will be stamped into the black front crossmember to your left about 6 inches from the outer edge...It will be printed vertically (from top to bottom)..

You mention a deed...If the home is being moved there must be a title....The vin will be on the title....Also...the states title department will be able to tell you the original dealers name from the title records...They will have an original manufacturers certificate of origin on file...

Who is financing this home...They usually have the title as well...The person you bought this home from should have a title..unless they own money..Of course when you paid them off they release the title..

There is an information data plate on all homes when new..It is usually a white paper with a few small maps on it..It is usually glued to the wall in a closet or on the back of a kitchen cabinet...This plate will have the vin and the factory name and address on it..

The seller of the home is supposed to file a amended warranty card with the factory when they sell...These cards are in the owners manual..which it seems does not exist...

Most states have a generic set up code for used homes (I think yours is one of them)...If you cannot find a set up manual...It must be set to this code..Ask your building inspector for a copy..

Thank you for your help. I will double check the cross beam for the number. We have a copy of the deed/title that we are getting transferred into our name from the repossessing finance company we bought it from and it has that same short VIN number on it. I will also look through the kitchen cabinets for the number.
I really appreciate you taking the time to reply to my posting. Another gentleman also gave me a telephone number to call and so hopefully I am now on the road to getting some answers! Thank you
