Down Flow Air
Down Flow Air
I need some help in de-siding if I want down flow air or the type that comes up from the floor. The next house (double wide) we buy we are planning on staying in for 15 or 20 years. I want the air that flows down. I have had the kind that is in the floor and the vent cover get messed up from walking on, mopping, kids putting stuff down etc. I would like to know what kind of problems you would have from down flow air, or what someone else thinks about it. I am just having a hard time de-siding. I think it make a home look more like a site built home.
Re: Down Flow Air
Hello Tina,
I have been asked this before about the differences with having the air flow come from the ceiling or the floor. It really is up to you, there are pro's and con's for both. I personally would go with air flow coming from the floor but here again that my opinion. I don't believe it really makes a big difference one way or another. Good luck.

Re: Down Flow Air
Air flow from the floor makes more sense then from the ceiling. Heat rises so air flow from the floor will make the room cooler faster than having to cool the hot air near the ceiling. We have floor vents and so far have not had any problem with them getting messed up (and they are white). Also when it's cold, the heat coming up from the floor reaches you faster then coming down from the ceiling. You are nearer to the floor than the ceiling. Our home has catherdral ceilings so its definatly the truth in our house.
