After reading posts here, questions remain concerning the quality of plumbing in mfg housing. What kinds of plastic/PVC pipe are quality, which are suspect? How about fittings? I understand to avoid plastic fittings and fixtures. What kind of metal fittings/connections...are they standard? Are special tools required to work on fittings? Since you can't solder like copper, how does one change/add/repair these fittings? How do these fittings and pipe stand up over time with hot water and at or near the water heater? Should piping that connects the plumbing system to the water heater be copper? Do these plastic pipes ever split?

Lot's of questions.....plastice holds up fine. The metal fittings are usually brass or Copper. Steel bands are used to hold the fittings in place. You should not have a problem with this type of set-up. It has been around for years and has done very well. Plastic pipes with plastic fittings have failed and should be avoided.
