I am a first time buyer. I have done alot of research, but all the models that seem to have favorable feedback are not available in Tennessee. What are some good brands available in the Knoxville area? Right now we are leaning toward Clayton.
Thanks.

Re: Homes in Tennessee
Clayton is king in TN...They build good stuff and home office is near..
Others to consider are Cavalier products...Cavalier, Belmont, Bellcrest and the other brands they sell...chck out their web site...There ought to be dealers in your area..Good prices and VERY value packed..

Hello Ann,
Yes, I would agree Clayton would be a good choice also look at Palm Harbor and Schult if they are in your area. I am not that impressed with Cavalier, Belmont or Bellcrest. Good luck.

Re: Homes in Illinois
My husband and I live in Chicago and am thinking of buying a mobile home in the South suburbs of Chicago. Does anybody know of any good parks in the South suburbs? Thanks

Re: Homes in Tennessee
I am back from looking in TN. The home I liked best was a Champion - Dutch Housing - Amish built. Any feedback? I am not signing any contracts until I am sure I am making a good choice.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Re: Homes in Tennessee
I live in the Chicago area and just purchased a home. I don't know about the south suburbs, but I do know there are parks in Matteson, Beecher, Frankfort. I think there are also some in the Calumet City, Chicago Heights area. I have never been to those parks.
In the south western suburbs I would recommend Wildwood South in Sandwich. They are a newer community and only sell double wides with garages. Very nice community. We would have bought our home in there except that it was too far from work. We work in the Wood Dale area.
We ended up buying in Bartlett in Spring Lake Estates. These are mainly singlewides and allow a carport with a driveway that allows two cars. Garages are not allowed. Storage sheds are. So far so good. Concerns promptly answered and it is a quiet community. Also has the lowest lot rent in the metro Chicago area.
You need to look at lot rent because some parks are quite high. Talk to people in the community. Also check the Illinois Manufactured Homeowners Association.
