Fuqua and Floors

After looking at lots of homes (Southern Idaho), we really like a couple of the models of the Fuqua homes. I've seen very little bad about them on anything I've read except that they're a little overpriced. Okay, I can live with that if its the home I want and will live in for the next 25 years.
However, cresdeck is standard flooring and plywood upgrade (?) is not an option. I've read two schools of thought on this message board (and I've read back for months of posts). The majority seem to like plywood, although several folks have cited 'scientific' studies saying how water left on for 24 hours, etc, etc and that cresdeck is actually better than plywood.
Are there really any 'scientific' studies verifying these findings or are folks merely reproducing anecdotal information?
Any comments on either Fuqua or the flooring?
Thanks so much for the help,
Curt
