i am looking to buy a new manufactured home on the east coast of florida.i would like the house to be built from a plant in florida.i have researched homes of merit,jacobsen and palm harbor.any opinions about reliability,service,price/cost,would be of great help. thanks,michael galligan

You are truly lucky to be in Fl if you are looking for high quality manufactured homes...The 3 manufacturers you mention are the best...Homes of Merit will be the largest since they have 5 or 6 plants in FL...They all come with a 5 year factory protection plan and they do have good service..25% of all manufactured homes in Florida are Homes of Merit. Homes of Merit have many models and they have different trim levels and even different construction standards.
..Palm Harbor in Plant City really does build a very nice home...
..One of the very best built homes in the US is Jacobson...They are one of the few family owned plants left in the country..ALL homes they build are built to wind zone 3 standards...They have a long reputation of excellent service..
If you buy the top quality Merit or any of the other 2, you can hardly go wrong...
