Clayton vs Skyline

Post by Kay » Mon Jan 07, 2002 3:28 pm

I have been researching and looking on lots for several months now, and I am down to choosing between Skyline and Clayton. I am in the OK/TX/AR area, so mine will not be made at the Skyline factory that made Richard W.'s, if that saves him another chance to bash Skyline. Does anyone have experiences with these two manufacturers, particularly in this area? I heard lots of good things about Palm Harbor, but I did not see the same quality for the $ in their homes as I did in the Claytons and Skylines.

Kay. If you were to get anything like I got from this industry, You too would be on the internet 'bashing' the manufacturer. IT IS very scary out there and there are a lot of good 'car salesmen' trying to earn their living, and as a former 'salesman' selling Skyline Recreational Vehicles, I KNOW. I can honestly say that a recreational unit sold by me was the best that money could buy. I did not sell them just for the money, I was happy to have satisfied customers. Please be Carefull out there....

Hello Kay,

In my new book called, "Manufactured Home Comparison Guide" I talk about both companies. They are appealing to the entry-level and mid-ranges buyers for the most part. You will need to add some strutural up-grades to get into the quality construction category. Both have good reputations in the industry.
