laminated floor trusses

I have noticed in the construction programs on TV, that they are using a laminated form of truss for floor joists. Is there some reason that manufactured home factories do not do likewise? Surely they are less expensive and stronger than 2x8s.

Hello Barb,

These laminated floors joists you’re speaking of are cheap substitutes for 2x8 floors joists. Don’t be fooled, 2x8 lumber is 35% stronger then those cheap glued together laminated chipboards.
