My Skyline Stucture Particle board sub floors - warped in kitchen now due to poor reapair, 5 of 8 rooms - floors are loose - been 'tightened' - came loose again - furnitue near walls rocks back and forth sometimes hitting wall, door jams interior - doors won't close properly - beat with block of wood and hammer by repairman - all came back out leaving doors rubbing on jams, every kitchen cabinet door hung crooked and mis-aligned,counter tops no level - try using an electric skillet on those, window jams in crooked and for repair they merely pulled siding away and forced the window to be 'square' instead of reframing, electrical wires are 'strung' loosely through the walls - not stapled to studs, electrical boxes not mounted to studs - attached between studs in middle of wall and attached to the 1/4" drywall - try pushing or pulling a plug too hard and there gos the drywall - this happened, Coleman furnace which has a mind of its own - blower comes on - heater box ignites - reaches room temp - heater box extinguishes and the blower shuts down momentarily, starting up immediately with a big bang - Coleman says 'normal' I say b_____s_____, . . I've told corporate office of Skyline not to have the developer ( Summer Hill / A Hunter Developement Co. ) come on my property and to contact me - not the dev - when we can work out something for the repairs - well first thing you know - instead of contacting me - the Ehrata , Pa. plant calls the builder and tells the builder to notify me that they ( Skyline ) would not come out to my house,I've done everything except get an attorney and it just seems to me that I will have to do that

It takes money to sue. I do not consider what I'm doing as 'gripinh as much as I consider it 'notifiing the unsuspecting consumer' about this pile called a 'home. Go to www.hadd.com , youl find a lot of good info there.

Hello Richard,

The reason for your problems is you purchased a low-end manufactured home. Don't assume all manufactured homes are low-end. Your problems are typically for the type of produce you have.

Yes ! I beleive you are right. Not as Low as Oak Wood maybe, but must be a very close run. I walk right into this MH because I am aware of the high quality and high standarts which their travel trailer divisions have. I have never seen such wonderful material and workmanship in a travel trailer - so I walked right in to this pile withput realizing the old tale of Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde existed in this corporation. Well! Too late a lesson learned. My stupidity is hurting my family, but the crap which my family is puttung up with in this Skyline garbage, just is not beleivable. I will take a good deal of the blame but the developer ( Hunter Developement of Martinsburg, WV. ) and the manufacturer ( Skyline Corp. ) don't want to honor the written warranty . Now dag on it ; Yes I bought the house ( goods delivered ) but I also 'bought their word' that they would warrant the place. I've got full delivery of what I I can not beleive can be piled that high - get ,my drift?
To think that Skyline benefiited from my selling 18 of their travel trailers, just to turn around and get screwed by them, What a hell of a way to run a business - Thought I'm learning very guickly now that the entire MH industry is not much different; some one had a good teacher.
I will not sell any of their s--- again..

P.S. Why is it some folks know so much about these MH? You would be able to sell a load of printed matter concerning this industry. The unsuspecting buyer is getting shafted everyday. I wouldn't mind kicking some ass down at HUD for the way HUD allows these " homes ' to be so shodily (sp) put together, not having to follow those building codes which must be used dy contractors for 'site' built homes. Though it should not surprise me that an industry can lobby our elected officials to get 'permission' to screw the consumer.....................

Enough money from the seller ( Summer Hill Dev in Martinsburg, WV. ) or the manufacturer to pay off the 30 year mortgage would be the greatest. They can have the place, I'll move on.......
