Fleetwood Homes

I live outside of Riverside, Calif. where the prices for manufactured homes are rising at a rapid rate. I'm on a fixed SSI income so I need an inexpensive home but well built. I would like to know about Fleetwood homes and what are your thoughts. Silvercrest is out of the question because of their pricing. I've heard about Hallmark homes but can't find anything on the internet about these homes. I need 2x6 construction and 30# snow load. What are my chances of finding a decent home for a decent price? I own my own property to place it on. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Mark,
You're right about nothing on the 'net on Hallmark. I've toured the plant on Redlands Blvd in Loma Linda. We're very pleased with our Hallmark, but they are a niche market on the high end. Our 30# snow load was only a couple of hundred dollar option because of the high quality already existing in the base model with 6" x 8' outer wall studs and all rafters, studs and joists on 16" O.C..
Beware of the short-lived vinyl wrapped 3/8" drywall and paper imprinted cabinets.
Sounds like we might both live in Anza.
Happy hunting,
Doug

Hello Mark,

Fleetwood homes are average in construction but not bad. I would focus on finding the most reputable retailer and ask about the set-up-crews and how long they have been in this line of work. Many overlook the fact that the set-up-crew makes a big difference in how things turn out.
