about to buy a schult

Post by DEBBIE » Sat Jun 16, 2001 11:48 pm

We are about to buy a schult home, this is a first purchase for us, and were new to the business. We knew that we wanted this paticular model and went to the dealer. The home is a little over 2400sq ft and we are paying $99,000. We got about $10,000 of upgrades on various things and we got a price of $105,000. I am worried that because we didn't negotiate too strongly that we are getting ripped off and that the dealer is laughing all the way to the bank. I have looked at your site and it seems that schult makes a well made home. Please tell me is this price reasonable. Thankyou

Hello Debbie,

Schult Homes are average compared to better-built manufactured homes. But it sounds like you added $10K in up-grades, which will help. I recommend shopping three or four different retailers that offer the same model. This way you'll know for sure if the price you negotiated on is fair. Hope this helps.

You said that you would consider schult average, which manufacturers would you consider better. Also, we have limited retailers where we live, I am in way south california, and the dealer we are going through for the schult is actually in Yuma, arizona.
