Hi, I am getting married this summer and i need to find a place to live with my wife. I was wondering if investing in a mobile home was like investing in a condo or town home. I had the idea to buy a mobile home becuase it would be cheaper and large than a condo in the same area. I would just like to know if it would be a good investment that would have a resell value in ten years. Also I am concerned about the space rental at a mobile home park. I was told that there is no way to regulate the space rental, could this be a problem are not. Please let me know thank you very much.

Unless you really need the extra space in the mobile home, the condo is a better option.

Mobile homes that are located in parks usually to not appreciate, and generally will take seveal years of paying your mortgage before you reach a "break even" point where you could sell and walk away.

I spent several years trying to sell my home in a park. And had to write a big check to leave.
