My dad is considering buying a manufactured home in Northeast Texas. The dealers closest to him carry Fleetwood, and Champion homes.The home will be used as mostly a retreat home so he does not really want to spend an arm and a leg. At the same time he wants a home that is of good quality and won't fall apart in 4 or 5 years. Please give me some insight on if any of these two manufacturers are worth considering,and if so what upgrades he needs if any to make it work. If Fleetwood nor Champion are recommended, what other manufacturers in Texas would you recommend. He really wants something fairly economical that will LAST.

Hello Kevin,

Texas is Fleetwood country. Fleetwood will be find, just stick with their middle line or better. Up-grade the floors to 2x8's and sheet-rock the home through out.
